Indian Institute of Information Technology, Dharwad is one of the 23 IIITs of India. This premium engineering institute was established in the year 2015. This institute is known for its B. Tech. and PhD degrees of 4 and 6 years respectively. The institute is situated in Dharwad, Karnataka. It is established under the public and private partnership model. This means both the government of India along with the government of Karnataka and industry partner, has funded the college. The funding is done by MHRD and the state government, and the industry partner is Keonics. 

This is a self-sustaining institute and is established to cover the gap of skill in the IT sector faced in recent years. They offer B. Tech. in three specializations of; electronics, computer science, and data science and AI. They also offer a doctoral-level degree or PhD in computer science, electronics, mathematics, and physics. They have all the required facilities and amenities for the students ranging from fully equipped labs to hostels. They are currently running out of a temporary campus in Hubballi's IT Park. The institute is planning to shift to its permanent campus in the year 2020. The government has provided 61 acres of land for a well-structured and facilitated campus of IIIT Dharwad at Tadasinakoppa village which falls between Dharwad and Hubballi cities. 

Location 

Currently, IIIT Dharwad runs from a temporary campus in Hubballi. Whereas, they will shift to the permanent campus in Tadasinakoppa village in 2020-21. The temporary campus is in the IT park, 3rd floor. The location is in the Deshpande Nagar, Hubli Dharwad highway and is in an easy to reach location from the main junction and bus stop. The rail junction is 2.5kms away and the bus stop is 2km away from the institute. Students can easily reach the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Dharwad by bus or cab from the junction or bus stop.
