About Chandigarh Coaching Centre
Chandigarh Coaching Centre was started in March 1992, realizing the great potential for becoming helpful to the students desirous of admission to engineering and medical colleges on the basis of merit in different entrance tests. The high quality academic input coupled with exceptional devotion and sincerity bore immediate fruit as is evident from the following results of the very first batch of students appearing in the year 1992. ARVINDER PAL, CBSE - PMT All India Rank 28 JASLEEN Selected in I.I.T. among 9 other selections. Encouraged by the aforesaid exceptional results and motivated by a deep desire to work towards perfection, greater efforts were made in subsequent years which reflected in further enhancement of results. In 1993, 27 students were selected in various Engineering and Medical Colleges including All India 85th rank in IIT (Kanpur). Since then there has been a phenomenal increase both in the number of students selected (crossing the 300 mark in 2004) and the ever more importantly the top ranks obetained by them increased manifold. In the year 2004, more than 304 students were selected through entrance tests in National and state level Engineering and Medical colleges. A few students cleared IIT. Ist, 9th rank in PU. CET, 7th rank in Hry. CET, 9th, 13th in PTU, 23rd AIEEE (SR) & 95th in DCE. In PMT examinations, 22nd, 133rd AIR in All India CBSE PMT, All India Ist rank in B.Pharma (AIEEE),2nd, 3rd in HP-PMT, 17th Uttranchal PMT, AFMC. In CHD. PMT - 12th, 31st and 47th rank, 7th rank in J & K PMT. In HP PMT, our students secured top ranks as follows : 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th, 10th, 14th and 16th........ More than 113 students scored more than 100 marks in HP. PMT. 48th rank in Punjab PMT. Years 2005 and 2006 saw a further enhancement of already glorious results of the students studying at the centre. Harsimran Singh brought us laurels by securing the 1st rank in PTU CET exam in the year 2005 while Gaurav Kaushal did his alma mater proud by standing 1st in the HP PMT exam. in the same year. The number of selections in both engineering and medical entrance examinations also went up even though the intake of the students in the centre has not been increased in order to maintain highest standards of excellence in our teaching and interaction with the students in smaller number of batches and small sized batches despite great pressures in admission. The year 2006 brought us even greater laurels. Two of our students Ankita Pal and Akhil Parashar found pride of place by getting selected in AIIMS, a rare feat for a single centre of excellence besides very high ranks in HP and other state PMT exams. Eight of our students were selected in the prestigious PU-CET exam for Govt. Medical College, Chandigarh. Alpana Garg was admitted at rank 1 in this College Hitesh Gaur stood 1st in Punjab PMT in C-17, 2nd in Wardha, 4th in JIPMER, 7th in DPMT. 22 of our students were selected in CBSE Mains exam. The year 2007 saw our students achieving further successes. 1st, 4th and 15th rank in PU-CET exam, 37th rank in All India CBSE Exam. Our student secured 1st rank in HP-PMT 5 times in the last 9 years, and 2nd or 3rd rank in the remaining 4 years. Varinder Singh, Hardeep Singh, Isha Sharma & Vasudha Sharma cleared IIT exam & brought laurels to the Centre. More than 170 students made it to prestigious medical colleges and more than 200 students (from limited strength) secured ranks in AIEEE exams. Another feather in our cap was added by Komal Parmar who got 19th All India rank in AIIMS in 2008. Four of our students namely Rohit Arora, Harshit Garg, Tilak and Tanvi brought us laurels by their selections in IIT, 5 students were selected in AFMC, Ullas 1st rank in PTU-CET. In HP-PMT our students got 1st rank in categories C-2 and C-4, 2nd rank in categories C-3, C-6 and C-7, and 4th, 7th, 10th, 12th, 13th, 15th, 18th, 20th, 24th, 26th, 31st, 32nd .... overall ranks in general category. 5th and 14th rank in Punjab PMT in categories C-18 and C-12 respectively, 6th general rank in CMC Ludhiana & 6th general rank in Uttarakhand PMT. In 2009 & 2010, our 19 students cleared IIT entrance exam from our intentionally kept very limited strength. A very large number of students got admission in prestigious engineering colleges all over India. In medical stream also our students were at the top again. Saurabh Gaba scored the highest marks in this region in AIPMT (prelim.) Exam. 7 of our students were selected in AFMC, 8 in PU CET exam for Govt. Medical College, Chandigarh with high ranks. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17 in category and while 3, 4, 5, 7, 14, 15, 16,19, 20, 22, 24, 25, 28, 30, 34, 37...... Ranks in General HP PMT were scored by our students in spite of a scam widely reported in the newspapers. The corner-stone of education at Chandigarh Coaching Centre is limited seats per batch. The batch sizes have been kept limited very strictly to provide an exceptional (and most essential) teacher-student interaction and individual attention. The students are greatly encouraged to clarify their doubts in class and outside. Having been educated and having taught in Canada and U.S.A., Dr. Khera was convinced that if students are taught concepts with thorough understanding and if they are made to learn to solve large numbers of relevant numerical problems independently, the results will be unparalleled. This was proved true because this practice made Chandigarh Coaching Centre students perfect right from Class XI onwards. The results of this effort were very clearly evident in the performance and self-confidence of our students, as several of them topped in +1, +2 classes in various schools and colleges of the city & outside year after year besides laying their strong foundations for engg./medical entrance exams. Regular exhaustive tests, removal of students’ shortcomings as noticed in tests, inter-class competitions and regular encouragement provided by the teaching faculty and Director through personal care, motivation & prizes have proved to be immensely beneficial to the interest of the students. The Centre has brought happiness to so many young lives and to their near & dear ones. Still, Centre has no desire to feel contented with its past achievements. Instead the Centre shall always be plugging loopholes in its work and those of its students and continue to strive towards perfection.Amenities
